100% Grand Cru Champagne

“When Edouard told us he was planning to make Champagne exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards, we were intrigued. The result is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the highest standards of quality. This terroir-driven wine features elegant brioche aromas and tempting white peach flavors. Full-bodied and rich, with a lengthy, nuanced finish, this is a truly great Champagne.”
— Denis Marsan, GALLEON

“Our philosophy? To craft wines that represent the purest expression of France’s finest terroirs. We are convinced that our Grand Cru vineyards have the potential to produce legendary Champagne.” – Edouard Labruyère

A Focus on Single Vineyard Vinification

At Domaine J.M. Labruyère, each plot is vinified separately to highlight the individual characteristics of each terroir. This is a fairly common practice for top Burgundian estates but is less frequently seen in Champagne. Here, most grapes are fermented in large tanks, blending vineyard parcels from across the region.

Domaine Labruyère’s unique approach allows them to craft singular wines such as “Page Blanche” Blanc de Blancs. The combination of chalky soils and the specific microclimate of the source vineyard produces wonderfully ripe Chardonnay. The resulting wine is incredibly elegant, with fine and persistent bubbles, impressive purity, and vibrant minerality.

Family Values Across the Vineyards of France

Already present in Burgundy, Beaujolais, and Bordeaux, the Labruyère family acquired their first Champagne vineyards in 2012. The estate bears the initials “J.M.” in reference to the founder of the Labruyère winemaking dynasty: Jean-Marie. He acquired the family’s first vineyards in 1850, in the area now known as Moulin-à-Vent.

The traditional values of family and hard work have been passed down from generation to generation ever since.

Terroir

The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards are situated on the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims. This exposure has proven highly beneficial to the vines. The surrounding forests transmit heat, accumulated during the day, to the vineyards in the cool hours of the night, allowing for ideal ripening conditions.

The combination of clay-limestone soils, streaked with sandy deposits, and the oceanic climate produces grapes of exceptional quality.

Behind the Wines

Edouard Labruyère

Head of the Labruyère estates in Burgundy and Bordeaux since 2008, Edouard is the mastermind behind the family’s venture in Champagne. In 2012, he established a winery in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay, located in the Montagne de Reims sub-region, renowned for its Pinot Noir.

This estate is a natural addition to the family’s collection of prestigious terroirs throughout France and pays homage to Edouard’s ancestor, Jean-Marie.
