Passion, Emotion & Elegance

Over the past 30 years the Domaine Feuillat-Juillot has developed an international recognition for the poise and precision of their terroir-driven Montagny and Montagny 1er Cru wines.

“Our wines hail from the best clay-limestone terroirs of Montagny… The three driving principles of our winemaking style are passion, emotion, and elegance." - Françoise Feuillat-Juillot

Old-vine vineyards

Domaine Feuillat-Juillot boasts an average of 50-year-old vines across its 15-hectare Montagny property. Older vines generally produce wines with more complex aromatics, greater flavor concentration, and textural appeal. The estate’s Montagny 1er Cru “Les Coères” is a fine example of old vine elegance.

Sustainable practices

In 2004, Françoise Feuillat-Juillot decided to stop using herbicides and to instead focus on gentle tilling and plowing of the land to encourage greater soil biodiversity. This early commitment to sustainable practices quickly paid off, leading to healthier, more resistant vines.

Winemaking excellence

Domaine Feuillat-Juillot was one of the first in Montagny to equip their winery with thermoregulated tanks for greater mastery of their white wine vinification. The estate is also particularly discerning in their selection of cooperages as well as the provenance of oak, the toast level, and barrel size.

Perfect food pairing

For Françoise Feuillat-Juillot, there is no more harmonious food and wine match than the estate’s fresh, elegant Montagny 1er Cru “Les Coères” with a Poulet de Bresse à la Gaston Gérard. This typical Burgundian dish features Bresse chicken slow-cooked in a sumptuous sauce of Dijon mustard, Burgundy white wine, and cream.

Behind the Wines

Françoise Feuillat-Juillot

After studying for a commerce degree in Paris, Françoise Feuillat-Juillot found herself lured back to the vineyards of her native Burgundy. In 1989, she partnered with a grower in Montagny-les-Buxy, and together they grew production from 5,000 to 60,000 bottles. Following the death of her associate in 2002, Françoise decided to purchase the estate outright and forge her own path. The tireless efforts of this talented vigneronne have given the wines of Domaine Feuillat-Juillot a reputation for consistent high-quality, elegance, and finesse.
