The history of Maison Boisset began in 1961, marked by the meeting of Claudine and Jean-Claude Boisset in Gevrey-Chambertin. With the arrival of the second generation, Nathalie and Jean-Charles Boisset entrusted the management of wine production to Grégory Patriat. Today, the heart of Maison Jean-Claude Boisset beats at the Ursulines winery, an iconic location that brings together the family's history, experience, and expertise.
A true link between the 18th and 21st centuries, the winery blends harmoniously into the landscape, like a natural continuum connecting the vineyard to the city.
Designed according to the principles of the golden ratio, inspired by geobiology and sacred architecture, it is oriented according to the sun's path, the lunar cycles, and the stars. The Ursulines winery thus combines telluric and cosmic energies. Both majestic and humble, this place dedicated to the production of our Burgundy wines symbolizes the link between earth and sky, the infinitely small and the infinitely large.
Entirely dedicated to masterful winemaking, the winery was built nearly three centuries after the first Ursulines building was constructed in 1717.
It is both an architectural feat—with its green dome resting partly on ancient cellars—and a sublime setting for wine.
From the vines rooted in the soil to the family's deep attachment to their region, everything at Boisset is about roots.
“...between earth and sky”: a phrase that sums up the very essence of the winery, its inspiration, its soul, and its raison d'être.
