A Mosel legacy rooted since 1735

In the scenic Mosel Valley of Germany, Villa Huesgen stands as one of the oldest and most authentic wine estates of the region. Founded in 1735, this family winery has, for centuries, perfected its craft — notably Riesling — honoring the harmony of terroir, passion, and a joyful approach to wine and life.

History and heritage

The Huesgen family began cultivating vineyards and trading wine in the 18th century along the Mosel, building a name associated with quality and an international outlook. Today, Adolph Huesgen VIII leads the family business in its eighth generation, blending tradition with modern innovations while upholding the legacy of his forebears.

The House as a symbol

The estate’s centerpiece is an Art Nouveau villa — completed in 1904 and designed by architect Bruno Möhring — which serves as the family residence and the symbol of the Huesgen tradition. This architectural gem reflects the heritage, hospitality, and wine culture that define Villa Huesgen.

Philosophy and lifestyle

Villa Huesgen embraces more than winemaking — it champions a way of life: “Made by happy people.” The focus lies on creating elegant, modern wines through sustainable viticulture, to be enjoyed in moments of simple, authentic pleasure.

Terroir and viticulture

The estate’s wines are grown on steep slate slopes of premier Mosel vineyard sites, known for imparting fine minerality and depth to Riesling. Sustainable, respectful vineyard practices — including selective hand harvesting — and thoughtful winemaking allow the wines to express their terroir vividly.

Iconic wines

Villa Huesgen is renowned for its expressive Rieslings — from dry styles to Kabinett and Spätlese, as well as Grand Cru bottlings — plus elegant sparkling wines. Each wine is crafted to act as a true ambassador of its region, combining freshness, fruit expression, and characteristic Mosel minerality.

Behind the wines

Driven by a deep passion for viticulture and wine culture, the Villa Huesgen team works meticulously from vineyard to cellar. Their wines reflect a profound connection to a historic terroir, the value of artisanal craftsmanship, and the warm spirit of the Mosel.
