A Unique Terroir in the Heart of Montalcino

The Terre Nere estate is located just a few kilometres from Montalcino in Tuscany, in an unspoiled landscape where vineyards benefit from an ideal microclimate and rich biodiversity.

The estate covers around 15 hectares, including 10 hectares of vineyards planted on south and south-east facing slopes near the Castello della Velona in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area.

Volcanic-Influenced Soils

Terre Nere is defined by mineral-rich, dark soils influenced by the proximity of the extinct Amiata volcano, which shaped the landscape millions of years ago.

This complex geology—combining clay, marl, sand, and limestone elements depending on the parcel—gives the wines depth, tension, and a distinctive mineral character.

A Vineyard Dedicated to Sangiovese Expression

The vineyards are primarily planted with Sangiovese, the emblematic grape of Montalcino, complemented by smaller parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon. Vineyard work focuses on controlled yields and careful grape selection to preserve the purity of terroir expression.

Craftsmanship and Respect for Nature

Terre Nere follows an artisanal winemaking approach based on natural fermentations, ageing in oak barrels, and a constant pursuit of balance and finesse.

The estate is managed with strong respect for the environment, placing biodiversity and soil health at the core of its sustainable viticultural philosophy.

The Expression of an Exceptional Place

Terre Nere wines express the identity of Montalcino through precise, elegant, and structured cuvées that reflect both the richness of the terroir and the character of the estate.
